My Jelly Beans

My biggest Jelly Bean turned three this past week. Where on Earth did the time go? It feels just like yesterday I read that stick with the 2 lines. I was putting her baby room together. I was feeling her wiggle in my belly. I was in hospital working on getting her out... But here I am with a three year old. How did that happen?!

Breeanna May
Just a few hours old December 8th 2008

On her birthday I decorated the house with balloons. She was super excited when she saw them all. I made her a heart shaped pancake. We made her cake the day before together, so she asked for cake for breakfast. Well, how could I refuse?

What would you like for your birthday breakfast Bree?
"Frog cake"!

I set her up at the table with her "frog cake" and a spoon. She ate alot of icing, I was afraid she'd be sick. But she was ok! She then discovered her presents in the living room, "oooh, whats that"? she asked and then started ripping into them. She got an animal sticker book and a bathtime My Little Pony. After her finally going potty a couple weeks ago, I promised her a pony! So be it :) We didnt have anything set in stone on what we were doing for her birthday. The hubs stayed home so we could have a fun day together. We went to the mall to hang out and look around. We got her a new umbrella stroller and she got to ride around in style! We had fries and a pop in the food court. We looked at some jewellery and accessories, but we think she is too young for that kind of stuff just yet! Santa was at the mall, so we paid him a visit. The kids wanted no part of him on their own, so we sat with them and got a nice family picture! We then headed over to the pet store. We intended to just look around and say hi to all the little critters. But we ended up getting her two fishies and princess accessories for their fish bowl. We then went home to relax and got her pizza for her birthday dinner. It was a nice day all around.

On Saturday, we had a birthday party for her. Everyone we invited came, so we had a house full! Bree was shy at first, hiding out under her art easle in the playroom. But she realized they were here for her and to party! We mingled, played, had snacks and stuff. As soon as I put the birthday presents down, she was really happy. She got a Barbie and handmade clothes for it, pyjamas, a drum/keyboard set, princess play clothes, art supplies, a pretty Christmas dress, a camera... She did very well! We are very thankful that her birthday party was a success and for all the wonderful gifts and love she recieved!

My three year old!

Kayden is doing amazingly well! He is 10 months old now. He is such a big boy, I still cant get over how big he is?! He is growing out of so many of his clothes. His wardrobe is getting bare. I sure hope he gets clothes for Christmas. He has been getting up between 5-6am in the morning now. Crazy man! At first, I was not impressed. But now Im used to it... He is a happy boy in the morning, so its not so bad. I get alot more done and have time to myself. Some mornings Im amazed by what I accomplish before the sun wakes up! He can crawl like a champ, its scary how fast he is! This past week he has started standing up at things. When he first started doing it, I was so scared he was gonna hurt himself. He has taken some tumbles, but he just shakes it off. Boys are so tough! He is eating much more which makes me very happy. He is fussy though and likes the "gourmet organic" food. and all things orange... Pumpkin, squash, carrot, sweet potato, etc. He isnt a fan of anything green, or the meat and veggie medleys. But can I blame him? Ive tasted them, and its disgusting!! I need to get a new food processor and do up real food for him. He likes toast, puffs and cookies as well, and gnawing on things like celery sticks and pickles. What a guy, eh?

Look at what Kayden can do!

Christmas is fast approaching, less than 2 weeks to go. Ah! We are about half done with shopping. I hope to get it all done by this weeks end. Then next week we can just relax and make cookies and crafts. After seeing Bree rip into gifts on her birthday, I am really excited for Christmas. We have 3 different Christmas' to attend, so it should be fun!

November

It has been a busy month. Sorry for my lack of blogging.

We have been busy preparing for winter and the holidays. The outside looks very bare. We have yet to get snow. It has snowed here twice, for about 30 seconds. Breeanna saw it and said "ho, ho, ho". I am not a winter person at all, so it can stay away as long as it wants. We are gearing up for Bree's 3rd birthday and the Christmas holidays. Oh what fun it will be this year!

Breeanna and Kayden
November 2011

Kayden is one busy boy. He is army crawling everywhere. There is no stopping him now. Well there is with doors and baby gates. He can crawl on hands and knees about 4 times, then he drops. Thats alot of work! He can sit on his bum like a big boy. He is also trying to pull himself up on stuff. He has gotten himself stuck in some places. He has 6 teeth now, I started losing count as to which days he got them. Once one came in they all popped up! He is making lots of noise, and we swear he says "Momma". He smiles and giggles on demand and is ticklish everywhere! He had his 9 month check up. He is over 20 pounds in weight and 29 inches tall. Everything checked out perfect. Im so blessed that both kids have had no health problems. He got his flu shot, and did worse with that than any of his other shots. Poor guy! He still loves Mickey Mouse, Rio and Tangled. He will have a fit if his shows arent on sometimes. He loves books, balls and cars. What a good boy! He is now into 12-18 month sized clothes. Its crazy! There are so many clothes he didnt even get to wear. And he had like 6 pairs of shoes he never got to wear cuz his feet are so big! He still isnt eating much and its driving me crazy. He will eat a couple spoons of veggie or fruit. Gnaws on pickles and cookies. He drinks plenty of formula. And he doesnt care for juice or water. I just cant get over how fussy he is. I for sure thought he was gonna be a big eater cuz he is such a big boy.

Kayden 9 months old
"This is what I think of peas and carrots"

Breeanna is growing like a weed. She goes through growth spurts. All of her size 2 pants are way too short, like she is ready for a flood. But her size 3's are too big in the waist. Thank goodness for expandable waist bands in most pairs. She looks so cute when she is dressed in some pants and tops. She looks like a stylish little teeny bopper! She finally had a trim on her hair at a hairshop. Gramma took her one day when she had her. It looks so much better now. Her hair is still so long, I call her my Rapunzel. She is eating better again. There are times she will eat like a little bird and be super fussy. Other times she is constantly nibbling and eating her entire meal. I guess we all have those days. She has been potty training a couple weeks. She has yet to do anything on the potty other than toot. She will sit on it and pretend and push. She has been wearing panties and pull ups and diapers at night. She knows when she has to go, but she does it when she tells us. Cant tell us then hold it until we get her on the potty. Atleast she is showing interest. We have an open door policy, so she comes with me when I go. I get claps and hollars cuz Ive gone potty LOL! It doesnt happen over night, so we will get there. She is talking so much now. It is pretty funny with what she comes out with sometimes. She is learning colours and numbers and is doing pretty good. She just amazes me!

Breeanna May
1 month shy of 3!

Birthday party plans are underway! She will be 3 on December 8th. We are having a party for her the weekend following. I have invited family and friends. I hope we have a good turn out and the weather cooperates. Snacks and playing and gifts and cake. It is a Tinkerbell theme, as we love her!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

This past weekend we celebrated Thanksgiving. We were VERY busy! Breeanna had a birthday party at an orchard Saturday morning. We then had dinner at my husbands mothers that evening. Then we had dinner at my brothers Sunday evening. It was nice to see family and have all the kids play together.

Kayden 8 months

On the 8th Kayden turned 8 months old. I still cant get over how fast the time is going by. He is a BIG BOY!! He must be around 23 lbs or more. I havent weighed him in a while but he is getting heavier everyday. I think by the time he is one or so he and his big sister will weigh the same. Its crazy how siblings can be so different! He continues to sleep all night, which is awesome! I hope its a sleep routine he keeps until he goes to college! He doesnt nap much through the day, but thats fine as long as he sleeps all night. He has two bottom teeth that are fully out now and oh so cute! For a bit he was sucking and chewing on his lip and cutting right through and bleeding. I think he realized what was causing it and stopped, thank goodness! He still chews on everything in sight. I swear he tries to eat even me sometimes! He still isnt eating much food. A couple cookies a day, a few spoonfuls of fruit or cereal. And I try and give him cereal in his formula a couple times a day. He is a LOVER of PICKLES just like his sister. So he gnaws on atleast two of those a day. He isnt crawling on his hands and knees yet but he does the army crawl all over the place. And he doesnt sit very well on his own either. He is just too wiggly and heavy to stay up. He spends his days in his bouncy chair, rocker, exersaucer and creeping all over the floor. Sometimes I fear he is bored and feel bad he does the same thing day in and day out. But he is a baby and before we know it he will be everywhere and into everything. So I guess I better enjoy it while it lasts!

Breeanna

Breeanna is doing great. She is such an independant little girl. And she is so freaking smart- it scares me! She comes out with a bunch of new words each day. Lately her favourite words are FROG, FARM, ANIMALS, AND POOP. Im so proud of that last one... not!!! She is learning colours, she can point out the colour when I ask but she hasnt said the words yet. She just amazes me everyday!

I have been doing alot of sorting and organizing in this house. Today I did a big thing and gave away all my maternity clothes! They dont fit and I wont wear them again, but it was hard letting them go. I nearly teared up after they were gone. They were just a big part of my life and were so cute and comfy. I know if I ever get blessed and have another baby I can just buy more. It just feels like that chapter of my life is over. Ya know?

Tooth becomes Teeth!

KAYDEN

Kayden- 7.5 months old

Kayden popped his first tooth yesterday which was September 24th. Today he woke with a second tooth! So he has two teeth! His mouth has been driving him (and me) mad for months. Im glad they finally decided to make an appearance. He looks so different with those two little teeth. My not so little boy is growing way too fast!

We also bought him a new car seat. He is pushing the 22 pound mark and is too big for the infant seat. I was getting sick of lugging that thing around anyways. He looks so much more comfortable in the bigger seat.

He is eating much more now. He loves cookies, sweet potatoes, oatmeal cereal and blueberries. Everything else he spits out or makes a face. I cant believe how picky he is!

BREEANNA

Breeanna- 2.5 years old

Breeanna is doing well. She is talking so much now. I love that I can have a conversation with her. I can ask her questions and she answers. And she asks for things. I love that we have crossed that barrier. She was getting so frustrated that we didnt understand her. She knew what she was talking about! So I hope we can soon try potty training again. We havent much planned this week, so I think we will start tomorrow.

I am really excited about taking her to the Ilderton Fair next weekend. They have a parade and a bunch of cool events. She didnt really get to appreciate the fair last year. She was too small to do much. This year she will be all over. We are hoping to find a frog this week, and enter her in the frog race. My husband thinks Im crazy. But its things like this that make the best memories!

Num Num

Kayden is finally eating FOOD!
Today he has had as follows:
Morning bottle of formula.
Bottle of formula with rice ceral mixed in.
Lunch- blueberries, banana pudding and a cookie.
Bottle of formula.
Bottle of formula with rice cereal mixed in.
Thats it so far...
Such a big boy! He wanted nothing to do with food a month ago. Just getting it near his face made him gag. It just took him a while to get the hang of it. But there are many things he spits out. Apples, banana, peas... He loves fruit and cookies. Its a start and thats what matters.

Breeanna on the other hand is a totally different story.
Somedays she eats non-stop. Other days she is like a little bird. A bite of apple, 3 raisins, a piece of cheese, a peanut. She likes to sit in her chair and watch me prepare dinner. Hits the table and says "mmm nummy". But then once I dish up her plate and present it to her she doesnt want it. Argh! But, as long as she is atleast eating something is what matters. Its if she wasnt eating at all that I would be really concerned about.

The seventh month!

Guess who is seven months...

It was seven months ago today, I was in extreme pain working on getting a baby out of me! Thankfully, that is a pain you soon forget. And thankfully there is such a thing as an epidural! I cannot believe how fast the time goes by. Kayden is such a big baby, I barely remember him being tiny and under ten pounds in weight. Today, he is pushing twenty pounds and is fitting in twelve month clothing. He eats around six full bottles a day. Two of those bottles are mixed with rice cereal. He despises eating any sort of food. I have tried nearly everything on him. He will lick a bit of strawberry puree and keep it down. Everything else seems to repulse him! Here I was thinking he would be eating everything in sight with being such a big boy and all. We will just keep trying and eventually he will eat more. He loves being on the loose on the floor. He will roll, and wiggle and scrunch himself up to move all around. He has yet to crawl... he can get up on his arms and do push ups and he can get up on his knees. But he is just so chunky that he cant get his middle up and on all fours. I know he will soon, then I will wish he was still immobile! He can sit up in the boppy or Bumbo or propped up with pillows. But he is such a wobbly guy he will fall over unassisted. He loves to watch Mickey Mouse and Tangled. Rapunzel is his girlfriend, he just drools over her- literally!

Happy to announce that sweet potato at lunch today was a hit with Kayden. Yay!!

Someone likes tummy time!
Kayden- 7 months old

My lil miss...

Breeanna is doing very well. It is hard to believe that in a years time she will be preparing to start school! I am excited yet scared for her to be at that point. She amazes me everyday with what she is learning. She is a sponge and soaks up everything! She is now learning numbers and letters. Animals now have names and arent just sounds anymore. If she flips through a book or magazine she points out everything she reckognizes. She fills her days with reading, colouring, waching shows, playing outside... As long as she is busy and happy; Im happy! We have been trying to find an activity for her to be in. But everything is just insanely expensive! How do these places think the average family can afford it? I hope to try and get her to playgroup a couple times a month just to get her around other children and interact. She needs that stimulation. I fear she is bored of us and her surroundings at times. She is definetly becoming her own person. I still cant believe how much she has changed in this small amount of times. She is an amzing little girl!

6 months!

Kayden turned 6 months old last week.

Today he had his 6 month well check. He weighs 18 pounds now and is 28 inches long. So he falls into the 50th percentile on weight and 90th for height. Such a big boy!! He has more than doubled in 6 months time, weight wise. Everything else checked out perfect, of course! The doctor isnt too concerned about him not liking food. As long as he drinks plenty, thats still fine. I thought he was gonna be my eater! He did the best yet with getting shots. The nurses tag teamed him so it wasnt as bad. He let out one long loud scream. Then once he caught his breath he was fine. He goes back in 3 months time to see how he is doing then. I am so blessed to have two healthy children. Theyve never had anything other than common colds.

Kayden had his photo shoot Saturday. He did so well! He even sat up straight longer than usual. Such a poser! I bought LOTS of pictures, how could I refuse? They come back the end of the month. I cant wait to share them with everyone.

My big boy and I

Breeanna and I went on a "date" yesterday. We dont get out much, so I thought it would be nice for her and I to get out do something together. We had lunch at Burger King. She had her own meal and a big hamburger. She felt pretty special! She sat beside me in a booth and was such a big girl. Its amazing to see her transition from highchair to seat, and eating her own food rather than sharing. We then went to Adventures on Wonderland. Its a big indoor playground with climbing tubes, ball pits, slides, etc. I just let her run loose and she had a blast. I actually lost her at one point. For about 5 minutes I was in panic mode cuz I couldnt find her! But she was just fine, she climbed one level up and came down the slide. She was pretty proud! She won a ball and had a treat. It was just so nice to get out with her and have her special time with me. She is an amazing little girl and I am proud of who she is becoming :)

August

I cant believe its August already! I would have to say this is one of my most favourite months. It is well into summer, but it begings to cool off and become more bareable. I love heat, but it is no fun for young children. We plan to get away this month, to the zoo or something.

Kayden
Nearly 6 months old, August 5th 2011

Kayden turned 6 months old yesterday. It feels just like yesterday he and I were hanging out in the hospital and he was just a day old. Time sure flies, especially when you have two kids keeping you busy. Kayden is such a big boy, I still cant get over that. I went through his clothes again and filled half a diaper box with things he has out grown. He is in 9 and 12 month clothing, anything smaller is just too tight on him and he looks squished. He drinks alot, about 5-6 8ounce bottles a day. When he is hungry, he is hungry NOW! I have tried him on rice cereal, prunes, apple sauce and yogourt. But he has absolutely no interest in any of it. As soon as that spoon gets near him he is making faces and pushing it away. Here I thought with him being so big and a big formula drinker, he would love food! I will keep trying and see where it leads us. He will hold an animal cracker or mum mum in his hand and play with them, but he wont eat it. He has been in size 4 diapers a while now. He and his sister wear the same size! He is sleeping all night, he has been a while now. He has been going to bed later than usual though. But I like once he goes to bed, cuz then he is out for the night. There is the ocassional night he will get up for a drink or diaper change, but its very rare. He loves to go outside and have tummy time on a blanket on the lawn. He actually passed out yesterday and had an hour long nap. Fresh air does a baby good! He loves to sit up in the stroller and tour around the property, checking out the sights. He loves all his little toys; chain link, rattles, little board books, etc. Anything and everything ends up in his mouth! I am sure he has been teething. For months now I have seen the little tooth buds wanting to pop out. Lately he has been especially grumpy. Tylenol, Ambesol, wet washcloths and my hand have been his favourites. I just wish they would pop through already! He has his 6 month photo shoot this Saturday. I look forward to him posing, smiling and being a ham for the cam-era! Next Monday he has his 6 month well check. I wonder what he weighs? I will share those experiences once they have been had!

This is what Kayden thinks of food...
Yuck!!

Breeanna is doing very well! She is also growing like crazy. She is so tall and thin. She is mainly in size 2T and 3T in clothing. She shares a size 4 diaper with her brother. It makes shopping for diapers much easier. Buy one big box every couple weeks and were set. Potty training is at a stand still. She knows when she has to go and holds it in a while. But she just wont go on the potty! She feels special when she is in underwear, but just has too many accidents. We will try again in a couple weeks and see how it goes. She is talking like crazy! I am amazed by what she knows and what she can say. Its really quite funny with what she comes out with. She renamed our big cat Stubbs to Bobby (he has a bob tail). She calls my Mom Gamma and my Dad Bumpa. She calls her cousin Noah Boo Boo. She calls horses and bunnies Gingy. Where do they come up with this stuff?! She loves her books and likes to draw and use stickers. My biggest pet peeve is she bites her crayons and tears of peices of paper and eats it. I think she mainly does it to annoy us and get a reaction out of us. It just drives me crazy! She enjoys her time outside, she likes to play with the dog and cat. They could keep each other busy for hours! We bought her a pool a few weeks ago, but she really has no interest in it. She would rather stand outside of it and splash in it than get in it and play. Weird?!

My big beautiful girl Breeanna

A few weeks ago, I took a fall down our side steps. I was carrying Kayden at the time, and went down hard. I held him with all my might so he wouldnt get hurt and I ended up spraining my right ankle. It hurt so bad at the time. I spent nearly 3 hours in emerge only to have them tell me what I already knew. Ice it, take ibuprofen and keep it elevated. Luckily, I didnt bust it too bad and was still able to hobble around on it. You sure take for granted when you are well. I dont wish any kind of pain on anyone. Hurting my foot was more an inconvenience than actual pain. I couldnt carry my kids for days, get up and down stairs well, drive for a week! Ugh... I am so glad I am better. Thankful to my Mom for watching the kids and my husband for doing more around here to help out.

Well, time for another coffee to keep up with my monkeys. Its a rainy dreary day. So it will be filled with crafts, movies and snuggles. We have yet to get dressed... Catch you later!

What Am I?

I am a stay at home mom. Some people seem to think that is the easiest job ever! All I can say to that is HA! This assumption usually comes from single people, married people without children, and older people who have grown children. Being a mother to 2 children under the age of 3 is not easy! For example, I was only able to write this much in my blog entry due to the fact my 5 month old son is screaming his head off because he wants to be fed. Be back later...

A day later!

Anyways, this is not an easy "job". It is the most rewarding job I have had though. Getting to see my children grow is a privilidge some parents dont get to enjoy. We have made many sacrifices as a family to do so. The pay sucks! But I am paid in love from these 2 little munchkins.

I would like to share with you what my day consists of:

Waking for the day, anywhere between 5 and 8am. Sleeping until 8am is sleeping in to me. I never get past that time. My children are my alarm clock. I cant recall the last time I have woke to an actual alarm clock ringing in my ears. Most mornings, I am up with my son immediatly. He wants to eat NOW, so I dont get to brush my teeth, hair, wash my face. Im lucky if I get to pee! Once he is fed and changed, I sit him down to watch his best pal, Mickey Mouse. I then get to freshen up and get a coffee. My daughter may get up at any point after he does. I may get 2 minutes or an hour to myself. But it isnt really to myself. The dog needs let out, need to get laundry on, breakfast in me, dishes done up from the night before, etc. Then once Bree is up, its get her a drink, breakfast, dressed... Then its time to play, read, learn, play dress up, play tag, or whatever it takes to entertain her. Kayden usually has a nap, but that is short lived courtesy of his noisy big sister. If I dont mange to get my shower in before Bree wakes, I somedays dont get it until snack time. At which point I will set Bree up with a snack or colouring so I can sneak in for a quick shower. On those days, I never feel clean and refreshed. Then before I know it, Kayden is up. Wanting to eat and play. The rest of the morning and afternoon consists of eating, cleaning, playing, changing bums, wiping up messes, kissing boo boos, and more! If Bree has a nap that is pure bliss! And if Kay overlaps a nap with hers, thats heaven! I then take that time to fold laundry, clean up from lunch, play a few games on line and catch up on emails, paying bills, making phone calls... and have another coffee. By then, its time to get supper on and wait for Chris to arrive home. You would think that once my husband came home I would get a break. Not the case. He has his own things to do, shower after a long day, eat, do chores of his own. Some nights I get out! But its to go grab a few groceries or have a play date... Then comes bath time and bedtime for the kids. Kayden is a super sleeper at night, so usually by 8 or 9pm he is in bed for the night. But with Bree, she may go to bed at 8pm or midnight! So there is book reading, cuddling, movie watching, etc until she is sleepy. Some nights she insists I go to bed with her to cuddle. I dont know if she just loves the cuddley alone time or she is afraid o be alone? But those moments are worth it!

Not to mention, my day is far from quiet. Someone is always crying, whining, yelling, talking, singing, playing music, banging on pots, hiccuping, farting, laughing... best sounds in the world, for the most part.

I always have someone clinging to me. Whether it be Bree on my keg or my lap. Kayden being carried around on one arm and hip while I attempt to get things done.

Once my head finally hits the pillow at night, I am exhausted. Im lucky if I get 5 or so hours sleep total.

Anyways... the jist of telling you what my day consists of is its far from easy and relaxing. If you would like to say it is then you are more than welcome to come and stay with my kids for a day and see just how easy it is. I applaud my fellow mommies and join in your joy of being a Mother. I would rather clean dirty bums and have sleepless nights than get up each day and go out to "work".

Soother-less

jjjhyiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii88iiiiuuu////ffffffffhhhh          nnmm,..,,tjfxqb

Breeanna wanted to say HI!

It has been 2 weeks now since we started taking Breeanna's soother away. At first she would just have it at naptime and bedtime. Then it was just at bedtime. She was going through a phase where she would steal Kayden's soothers. She was just trying to be funny and annoying. Well, last night she went to bed with out her soother and did just fine! So hopefully this is it! Kayden isnt really a fan of soothers, he would much rather suck his hands or his blankie. So maybe this is the end of soothers in our household? It would be nice. Now onto bottles, she just has one in the morning and one at night. We have still tried milk in a sippy cup and she refuses it. She will just have to do without soon. She is doing pretty well at drinking things out of a regular cup, a wee bit of milk included. Just have to let go and take things away from them totally for them to get over it. The whining and crying and begging was the hardest part of it all. When your child is like that, you just want to give them something to take that problem away. It took Chris a while to stick to the rules as well. He just wanted to give her whatever she craved to shut her up. She has him wrapped around her little finger and he gives in easily.

Hard to believe, but both kids are in the same size diaper! They both can wear a size 4 Pamper. Isnt that crazy?! Breeanna is tall and thin and has a skinny little butt. Kayden is big and chunky and has a big butt! Its nice to buy one big box and have them share rather than buying 2 different kinds.

My Little Rockstar

Kayden got a hair cut this past weekend. By me! His hair was falling out in the back. It was all frizzy and patchy. It looked quite pathetic. I wanted to fix it somehow and make it look somewhat presentable. I started buzzing the back, and got half way and got scared and didnt know what to do with it. My husband suggested taking it all off, or a mowhawk. I couldnt get rid of all his baby hair, so a mohawk it was! He sat so still, considering he is such a wiggly little man. Once I was done, I couldnt get over how cute and cool it was. It totally suits him! I found people either loved it or hated it. I dont really care what the haters think. It is hair. It will grow back. He is a boy. Both my kids were born with plenty of hair and there is lots to play with. And it grows extremely fast. So what if he is 5 months old and has a mowhawk? He is the coolest and sweetest looking 5 month Ive ever laid my eyes on. Anyways, I just wanted to share this milestone.

For Caylee

I was deeply saddened yesterday to hear that Caylee Anthony's muderer got away with her death. Justice was not served in this case. The only one who suffered through all of this, is that poor little girl.

I love my children so much that words cant even describe it. I cried the moment I found out I was pregnant. My heart skipped beats when I felt my child move inside me. The day they were born was the best days of my life. To hold them, and look into their eyes and know that they were mine was the best thing ever. Knowing they need me to grow and become who they are is the most precious gift. Cuddles, and kisses, and hugs and loving is the best thing ever.

Last night, I hugged my daughter alot tighter and gave her more kisses than usual. At one point she even pushed me away a bit and said "dont Momma" and laughed. And I said I will hug her and kiss her as hard and as much as I want until the day I die.

I just dont understand how a parent can harm their child? We gave them life, and are to be the ones to keep them from harms way. I feel bad when I have to tap my daughters fingers to keep her from doing something that may hurt her. I have yelled at her when she is into trouble or doing something that might harm her. Then I feel so bad after the fact that I hug and kiss her and apologize.

My heart aches for those who have ever lost a child. Whether it be at the hands of some sick person, disease, or by accident. No childs life should be taken so early. Caylee was only 2 years old! She was just becoming who she was meant to be- playing, reading, talking, colouring, etc. She would have been 5 now, in school, making frends, just being a kid.

Rest in Peace Sweet Angel xo

Cold turkey

Today is the first day of working on getting Breeanna to give up two things...
-soothers
-bottles
I have tried in the past but it has been complete horror! Screaming, crying, hitting (me), yelling (her), etc. But, Ive had enough. She is less than 6 months away from being three years old. I would have liked to have had her off both things around the age of one. She was doing really well with having no milk in her bottle in the new year. But since her brother arrived and he has bottles, its been a downward spiral. As with the soothers, she was doing really well without them too. Usually at nap time and bedtime, and sometimes in the car. But she is a big girl and doesnt need to depend on either for comfort. So, she had milk in a bottle when she woke up this morning and nothing since. I gave her milk in a cup, and she barely touched it. I offered it to her again and told her she was getting her milk in that now, not a bottle she did drink about half of it. Soother has been hiding all day and she hasnt had it since last night. It will be hard, but we just have to stick with it and be firm with it. Daddy seems to cave into her needs the easiest. I think the most battle is going to be between him and I and sticking with this change. He is a sucker, and would much rather do something to stop her from whining. But it is time for her to be a big girl!

We celebrated Canada Day this past weekend. Here are my two beauties dressed in their red and white.

It's A New Day

Well, Hello!

Breeanna amazed me this morning. She brought me a pair of underwear then proceeded to take her diaper off. I put her in her undies and then she went and dragged her potty out into the sitting room. So we shall try potty training again. We put it to rest a couple weeks ago after we had many accidents and were getting no where. She is either ready, or just playing around.

She has been talking sooo much! It amazes me with what she comes out with. Her words are more clear and she is saying a few words in a sentence. Her favourite things to say right now are "outside", "here I come" and "play ball". Which all leads to playing outside. She has her ways!

Kayden is rolling all over. He has been getting up on his knees and either forhead or elbows. He is so determined to be mobile. Slow down little man, you have plenty of time! He is teething. His 2 bottom teeth rise and fall. Somedays I see them trying to come through, other days they disappear. He loves to chew and drool on everything!

Today is the first day of summer. The weather has been beautiful the past few days. We want to hurry and get a garden in. As well as get the kids a pool set up. Summer will be gone before we know it. So we better enjoy it while it lasts!

Love each other, much?

4 month well check

Kayden turned 4 months old on the 8th. Today he had his check up. He is my BIG BOY! He is 15lbs 3oz and 26.5 inches long. He is in the 90th percentile for height and about 75th for weight. Everything else checked out a-ok! His ears, eyes, reflexes, strength, hips, heart, belly, etc! He is just perfect. I am so blessed to have 2 healthy happy children. He was all smiles and super flirty with the doctor. She was just gushing over him and his sister. Can you blame her? He had shots today. The first shot went amazingly well. He let out a little whine and quivered his lip. I was relieved he did so well. But the 2nd needle was a whole other story! He turned beat red and let out a long terrifying scream! I didnt think he was going to be able to catch his breath :( I held him and fed him and consoled him. Then got kicked out of our room. After he had more bottle in the waiting room, he was fine. Poor lil guy... So now he is good until he is 6 months old. I am so happy he is doing so well. Love my lil pork chop :)

Trial and error

This past weekend, we attemmpted to start Breeanna with potty training. She has been telling us when she has gone and is staying dry for long periods of time. So we thought it was worth a shot. We had her in big girl underwear, had the potty out in clear view... Constantly asking her if she had to go or wanted to sit on the potty. The first day went fairly well, she only had a few accidents. But when we put her on the potty she wouldnt do anything. The second day didnt go as well as the first. She had many accidents and seemed afraid of the potty. By the third day, it was a disaster. She even asked to be put back in a diaper. We just dont think she is ready yet. Once she is, she will let us know. She is a very smart girl! I think with moving and putting her in a big girl bed has been alot for her. But she has done amazingly well with everything, considering.

Kayden is doing great! Not much to report. He is a giggling, rolling machine! He has his 4 month well check tomorrow, so I will report how that goes after we have been.

Time is flying by!

I have not posted in nearly a month. My bad...

So much has been going on. We moved to our new place a couple weeks ago. I have been busy unpacking and setting up rooms. It is such an awesome place. We all just love it here!

Bree has changed alot! She is who she was meant to be out here. She sleeps well and naps again. She barely throws any tantrums. She is talking and laughing more. She is just a completely different kid, and I am so proud. She loves to run around outside. Play with her dog and collect things. She has her own room and I have decorated it with fairies and ponies. Today, we did something huge! She now has a big girl bed! I am not sure how the first night will go? Either really well or really bad... We shall see! She is speaking very well and has great manners. She apologizes to everything, says "oh sorry" to anything. Its beyond cute!

Big girl in her big girl bed!

Kayden started rolling from back to front on the 4th. Today he rolled from front to back! He is a rolling machine! He is good at pushing himself up and kicking those legs. So I bet in no time he will be crawling! He is sleeping through the night. It is pure heaven! I cant believe he does already. He is a wonderful boy :) He smiles and giggles on demand. And he is ticklish in his ribs and underarms. He loves Sesame Street! It is just so amazing how fast they change and develop and become themselves.

Time is flying by!

Tomorrow is Mother's Day. It will be my 3rd, well 4th actually...I concieved Breeanna in April 2008, she was here the next year, I concieved Kayden around this time last year, and now he is here.  I cant believe how fast time goes by! They are such amazing little people and I am so blessed to have them in my life. I am so happy they chose me to be their mother in this life.

Mommy loves you Breeanna May and Kayden Christopher!

Kayden will be 3 months old tomorrow. I cant believe it! He is such a big boy. He is wearing 6 month size clothes. His size 1 diapers all of a sudden became too small. I will finish off this last pack, then graduate him to a size 2. He has really chubbed up this last month. Big bum, big hams, sausage arms... He sleeps about a 7 hour stretch at night now. Its so nice! I just have to train myself to sleep when he sleeps. He loves to be up at 4-5am and just coo and giggle. I dont enjoy that very much... he is lucky he is so cute! He is drinking 6-8 ounces at each feeding. And he sucks it back in no time. I dont know where he puts it all. He loves going for walks and car rides. The motion soothes him and he gets to see new things and get lots of fresh air. He is mesmerized by his hands and sucks them all the time. He isnt much of a fan of soothers, which is fine with me. He also loves to make faces and stick his tongue out. He is my main source of entertainment these days.

Easter Day
Kayden and his new buddies!

Breeanna is in a growth spurt. All of a sudden she seems really tall. Alot of her pants that were falling down are now fitting in the waist and getting short. She looks like she is getting ready for a flood! She graduated to size 5 diapers last month. I just cant get over how big she is. She is no longer my little baby, she is my big girl! My mom bought her some underwear and we have tried her in those. The longest she lasted was just over 2 hours with no accidents. Thats a pretty good start! She seems afraid of the potty. I think we will get her another potty so she has a couple to do the deed on. She knows when she has to poo or pee. She just has to realize to tell us and get on the potty. She is only drinking a bottle of milk or two a day. She is still attached to that. She will not drink milk out of anything else. And its a part of her night time ritual, so it will be hard to break. Her molars on the bottom have really broken through. I dont see the top ones making an appearance yet. She loves to gnaw on food on those teeth. As well as she will chew on a blanket once in a while. It must feel good! She loves to colour and draw pictures. She is getting better at speaking and communicating what she wants. She will disappear in her toyroom and read books. She will even sing to me :) She is just so amazing!

Breeanna and her Easter Treats!
(She was sick at Easter, and pretended she was eating her treats )

We will be moving to a new home soon. We are getting the keys sooner than we thought. So it will be nice to move in there gradually and be able to fix and clean this place up without feeling rushed. I look forward to decorating each of the kids rooms. I think we will do Bree's room fairies and flowers. As well as get her in a big girls bed. We will do Kayden's room animal themed and he will then get the crib. I look forward to getting out of the city and back into the country. There is just so much more to do. And the kids will get to play outside with us having no fear. It will be good for Breeanna and her development. She loves to be outside to discover new things. And I think it will be good for our mental health and marriage as well. The city can get to you, and its just not for us. Its a nice place to visit, but not live.

So, cheers to new beginnings!

MY BABIES

Kayden & Breeanna

Kayden

Kayden is 2 months old! Well... 9 weeks and 1 day to be exact :)

He had his 2 month well check today. He is 12lbs 1oz and 24 inches long now. I cant believe how big he is! He is soooooo much different then Breeanna. The doctor checked him thoroughly and he is spot on for everything. He is such an amazing little man. I am so blessed to have 2 healthy children. He got his 1st needles today. I was so scared for him. He didnt cry at first and I thought, what a trooper. But he built it up inside and let out the biggest scream. It made my heart jump. Then he had another one :( I cuddled him and fed him and he was good. So, now he doesnt go back until he is 4 months old in June.

He is a very happy baby. He smiles on demand and coos and makes the cutest sounds. He likes to sit up, isnt a fan of being on his back. He enjoys tummy time, and looks like he would get up and crawl if he could. He can scootch backwards a bit when he is on his tummy. He is eating alot, I cant even keep track anymore. But we know he is getting lots by how big he is getting and how much he pees and poops! He is sleeping longer at night, his longest stretch of sleep has been nearly 7 hours. I couldnt believe it! The hardest is when he gets up at 4am and doesnt want to go back to sleep. Ugh! He has small naps through the day. He likes to be up and watch us and do things with us. He is very nosey, doesnt want to miss out on anything! He loves car rides and walks. He just amazes me everyday and I am so proud he is my son and Im his Mommy!

Kayden Christopher
8 weeks old

Breeanna

She is 28 months 1 week and 1 day old (but who's counting?)

Breeanna is doing awesome! She amazes me everyday. She is just so smart, and she knows it! She is learning numbers and ABC's. She cant count to 6, but has a hard time remembering 4. She can say and reckognize quite a few letters. She loves animals, and can say their names and sounds. She is also a master at matching puzzles now. She loves to colour and draw. She is doing really well with drawing circles. Now that Spring is finally here, she loves to be outside. She is such a big girl now, she can get up and down the slide all by herself now. She has bonked her noggin a few times, but thats all part of growing up. She likes to go on walks with her Daddy. I just dont have the energy to carry her back if she gets tired! But we do go on "I GO's" (rides in the stroller) atleast twice a day. She is sleeping very well at night now. We have cut out her daytime nap and she goes to bed early and sleeps up to 12 hours a night sometimes. Its so nice having our nights back, and not fighting to get her to bed. She recently hadnt been quite herself. And we discovered she got her 2 year molars on the bottom! My baby girl is growing up so fast; too fast!

1 month baby well check

Kayden had his one month check-up on Wednesday. He definetly is my BIG BOY! He weighed in at 10 pounds and 9.5 ounces. Exactly 2 pounds heavier than his weight at birth. He is also 1 inch longer, putting him at 22 inches. He is above average for his weight and average for his height. His sight, hearing, reflexes etc. are all perfect! Thats about all to report. I had thought he was getting immunization shots already. But thats not until months 2-4-6-12 months... I was so worried about him getting them. I guess I can save my worry for next month!

5 weeks

Kayden Christopher @ 4 weeks old

I meant to add a post 1 week ago when Kayden turned 1 month old. But he and his sister have been keeping me very busy. Alot has changed in a month. He eats much more, feeds off me then eats a few ounces of formula sometimes. I wanted to exclusively breastfeed, but he is just too hungry. He is a growing boy for sure! I already have a diaper box full of clothes he has outgrown. There were even some things he didnt get to wear. His sleeping habits have changed. He likes to be up alot more with us. He just doesnt want to miss anything! But thankfully he sleeps longer at night and we get a 3-5 hour stretch of solid sleep. I dont always sleep so well sometimes though because I wake up to check on him to be sure he is ok! He started smiling alot and laughing a few days ago. Its so cute to see him smile and giggle and let out funny little noises. He is such an entertaining little guy! He also now loves to be naked! He used to freak out when I changed his diaper or gave him a bath. Now he lays back and smiles and rolls his eyes in awe of being nude. Typical man! He has his 1 month well check tomorrow, so we will see how much he has grown and how well he is doing. Im curious to see what he weighs, I am pretty sure he is over 10 pounds now. He is my big boy! He gets his first shots and that is something I dont look forward to. I think it is harder on us than them... So, I will share more in a day or so.

Swollen feet.
Constipation, gas, cramps, heartburn...
Waddling like a duck.

I have a 3 week old!

Kayden Christopher @ 3 weeks old

Where does the time go? I cant believe Kayden is already 3 weeks old. It has been a wonderful 3 weeks. I am so glad he is here. He is such a great little guy. He is worth getting up at 3am and being peed on by. He is now a breasteeding champion! He wasnt too interested in it for a while. I was supplementing formula and pumping. But over the weekend, he decided he likes the boob better! It is much more convenient, and now I dont have to mix formula and wash bottles. It also makes me feel closer to him. Im glad Breeanna is such an understanding big sister. I was afraid she would be jealous of me holding and feeding him. But she understands he is a baby and needs that extra care. So, he is drinking lots and growing lots. I already have a stack of clothes he has outgrown or wasnt even able to wear. Its sad putting stuff away already knowing that is the last time it will be worn :( He sleeps very well, once he is sleeping. He likes to stay up alot through the day, I guess he doesnt want to miss out on anything. He sleeps very good at night, usually a 4-5 hour stretch. So then I am a happy Mommy as I get some solid sleep too! He has become very vocal. He growls and makes noises that sounds like a kitten. And he will get snorting like a little piggy too. He prefers to sit up in his bouncy, swing, or be propped up on the boppy pillow. He just likes to be part of the action! He and I have not ventured out on our own again. But I did go out with just the kids the other day. And we all survived! They are both good travellers and love car rides. Thank goodness!

Big sister Breeanna and her baby brother Kayden

I am now very mobile, cant keep me still! I am so glad I have recovered. I was so happy I had a VBAC, yet so frustrated I had the other pain to deal with. I am now down 39lbs since giving birth. That puts me 13lbs below my pre pregnancy weight! It has been a long time since Ive been this low. I plan to still lose another 15-20lbs by summer. I really look forward to buying new clothes. Nothing fits! Its all too big, or maternity wear. I have been busy chasing after Bree as well as still eating less and eating healthy. I am planning on walking with the kids twice a day once this freezing weather stops. Spring cant get here soon enough!

1st check-up and such...

1st check-up
Kayden had his first check-up with our family doctor on Thursday. It was also our first outing alone. We picked up Gramma though to help carry him and such. It was nice to get out! He was weighed and is back up to his birth weight of 8lbs 9oz. He was FINALLY measured and he is 21 inches long. He is my big boy, thats for sure. He was checked over thoroughly, and he is perfect from head to toe! His heart rate was around 140 beats per minute. Which is around what it was when he was inside... No need to go into every single detail as everything checked out a-okay!

MY BEAUTIFUL BABY BOY

Sickies

We had to come home quickly that day, as Chris was very sick. He ended up with a terrible 1 day flu. And unfortunately, I got it too :( Mine was milder than his, but still terrible! Just as I was starting to feel better from giving birth, that set in. Were just hoping we didnt share it with anyone, especially the kidlets! So far, theyve been fine.

Weight Loss

On a good note, I am happy to announce my weight loss success! I gained 26 lbs throughout the pregnancy. As of 9 days after giving birth to Kayden, I lost 29lbs. Yay me!

Kayden's Birth Story

Kayden's Birth Story

I woke up on the morning of Tuesday February 8th 2011, feeling a little funny (around 8am). I was experiencing pains, I hadnt had before. Every 8 minutes or so, I would poke Chris to wake up. I could just feel it was finally the day! We got up as usual, had a coffee and something to eat. Then the pains began getting closer together. I figured we had lots of time... Chris dressed Breeanna and headed out to get his sister to come back here and stay with Bree. I finished packing my bag and had a bath. The bath was a BIG mistake! I figured it would make me feel better, help me relax, slow things down. But it only made it worse. By that time my contractions were about 5 minutes apart and lasted about a minute. Once Chris was back, I was ready to head out the door. I felt so bad, I didnt even hug Breeanna as we left :( The contractions got so strong that I only remember snippets of the car ride to the hospital and entering the hospital. When we checked in, my contractions were right on top of each other (1130am). They assessed me and didnt waste anytime getting me to the delivery room. I got changed, IV in, bloodwork done... They gave me gas for the pain and right away sent the request to get the epidural. I did very well with my breathing and getting through each contraction. My nurse, Roberta, was the best! Not much time had passed and my water broke on its own (1pm). What and odd sensation! Shortly there after, the anesthesialogist was there to insert my epidural, thank goodness! (2pm). It was so hard, sitting upright and trying to stay still as they inserted it. But I knew it was something that needed to be done. In no time at all I started to feel relief! I was then able to breath through the pressure of the contractions, focus, and rest up. I had finally reached 10cm dilation, woo hoo! (4pm). Baby was facing sunny side up, so we waited for him to turn. Then it was time to start pushing! I was so glad I was able to have this baby the natural way, I was so proud of myself! I had feared Id be a repeat c-section. But my body and the baby were both ready and knew what to do. I began pushing, it was so amazing seeing that little head of hair working its way out. I thought it would be gross to watch, but it was a miracle! I had an amazing coaching team- Dr. Lopez, nurse Roberta, Chris and my Mom. After about 35-45 minutes of pushing, my baby was here! Kayden Christopher arrived just in time for dinner like I had predicted earlier in the day. He was born at 5:01pm, weighing 8lbs 9.5oz and 21 inches long. He didnt cry very well at all and was taken to the ICU. It was hard not being able to hold and bond with him in those first moments of his life. But I wanted him to be ok. The doctors delivered my placenta and sac. I again thought it would be gross to see that, but decided to look at it. Its amazing what he grew in and lived off of for 9 months! I had a 2nd degree tear so the doctors repaired and stitched that up. I spent a couple hours in recovery while Kayden was being taken care of in the ICU. He got better and better as each moment passed. I felt so much better after having him, you soon forget the pain! I was taken to my room around 8pm, and Kayden joined me about a half hour later. Breeanna was there to meet her brother for the first time. She was so gentle with him, touched his face and "petted" his hand. The epidural began to wear off around midnight. I was able to sleep a little bit. Its very hard to be in a ward room with other mothers and babies. Around 5am, I started to feel extreme pain in my pelvic area. When I tried to move my legs to get out of bed I couldnt. It was so frustrating and painful! I had neuroligists, obstetrical people, and many interns visit and assess me. But no one could exactly figure out what was wrong. I felt like I was on an episode of "House"! So, I spent a few more days in hosital until I was a bit more mobile. We were released Friday after dinner. It was so nice to pack up, and head out of there and go home. Being in hospital that long feels like being in prison. The service was nice, the food was good, but there is no place like home. Breeanna slept over at my parents a few days. So it was nice to be home with my boys, rest and get settled. I used a walker for 2 days and lived upstairs. It was so hard not being able to get up and around and do things. But I had to recover... Having a VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section) was the best decision I ever made. It was amazing what my body and I was able to do. I am so happy to be a mother of two and be home with my babies.

Past due...

Well, I made it to my weekly check up yesterday. I had hoped I would have had this baby by now, and didnt have to go. The hubs went with me for once. Breeanna stayed with her Aunt Sarah and she was such a good girl! My sample was good, I gained 2oz (LOL!), and my blood pressure was up a wee bit again but nothing to cause alarm. Baby was super active, as always, and heartrate was 140 bpm again. I was "checked". No change really, still at 3-4cm although my cervix was nice and soft. What a compliment :) She really dug around in there and left me feeling very sore :( Good news is, if this baby doesnt come on his own in the next week, I will be induced for sure on February 9th. Yay! They just dont want me to go too long, with the progress I am making, as well as the blood pressure creeping up. Last night I had alot of back pain and contractions. But I think it was from the exam. This morning I had a "bloody show" which sort of had me concerned. But its to be expected... all part of the process. So we shall see when this little guy decides to come. Its all up to him at this point! I had figured hed be here by now, but now it feels like he never will! Its hard to believe, but by this point with Breeanna, I was home with a 2 week old baby! Well, thats all for now, just thought Id share and update you all :)

Will he ever get here?

I have just 1 day until my due date. I was sure I would have had him by now. I was set on the 31st as the day. But that has come and gone. Sleeping is impossible. I just cant get comfortable. And I have a million things racing through my mind. I think I am hungry... I just ate 2 fruit cups. Atleast its healthy! Right now I am having "contractions". The same kind I have been having over a week now. They last about 2 minutes, with about 5 minutes between. But after 40 minutes to an hour later, they stop and I feel fine. One of these times, they will not stop and become more frequent and I will then know it is time. It is just so frustrating not knowing when that time will be. It could be tomorrow, 3 days, next week! Ugh... Atleast with being induced, I knew I was going in to get things moving and Id have a baby soon. Anyways... I have the baby bag packed. Cradle ready, other baby things out and ready for him. I have my stuff laid out to throw in a bag. I have Bree's bag started. I have been cleaning and organizing like crazy. And keeping on top of the laundry. Nesting, much?! I am just so anxious to have him and meet him, and get home with my family of 4. I want to feel "normal". Not be in pain, and waddling around, and not being able to carry my daughter or have a lap for her to sit on. Staying in so much because going out in winter and snow is such a chore and workout. I want to go out and enjoy a walk and shopping trip and not dread it. Hormones arent helping either... Well, thats all for now. I just felt like sharing and getting a few things off my chest. I have a check up Thursday, so if he isnt here by then I hope I get some reassuring news that day. If they offer induction, yes please!

Not long now

Not long now...

I am 39 weeks + 2 days pregnant. I had my weekly check up today. I was the first to be seen after lunch. Ive never been in and out so quick. Talk about service! My sample was clear. I gained 4 lbs in 2 weeks, which puts me to 27 lbs gained throughout the pregnancy. My blood pressure was up a bit from last time, but not alot to worry about. Baby boy is head down and engaged, bum sticking out the front and very active. His heartrate was 140 beats per minute. He was kicking and punching all over. We could even hear sloshing around and him mimicking breathing. He makes me so happy and proud, and he isnt even here yet! I was checked internally, and Im happy to report I am already 3-4cm dilated. YAY! Its good to know the pelvic pain and contractions Ive been having this past week were for a reason. The doctor is very happy with my progress. She is confident I will have this baby naturally, likely within the next week. PHEW! What a relief :) Its kind of nerve wracking not knowing exactly when Ill have this baby. But its good I dont have to be induced or have a c-section. Its nice to have good doctors, who listen to your concerns and help follow through with your wishes. Well, time for me to have a lay me down. Since I was examined Ive been quite sore and crampy. Ill keep you posted!

12 days

I have 12 days to go until my due date. I am so ready to have this baby. And I think he is getting ready to come out. He has dropped considerably. I have alot of pressure in the pelvis. Yesterday was a very bad day. It felt like my legs were coming apart from the rest of my body. I did alot of laying and sitting around. Today was a much better day. My weekly appointment was cancelled this week. That sort of bummed me out. I like going every week, to know whats going on and happening in there. They said if I have any concerns to just go to the obstetrical triage at the hospital. Okie dokie... I have been "nesting" when I have the ambition. Washing baby clothes and putting them away. Digging out baby gear- bath, bouncy chair, swing, etc. Its so fun going through this again! But man, kids have alot of stuff. I am just to the point now that I want to have him, be home with my babies, and start this new chapter of my life. And have my body and energy back!

Breeanna is doing awesome! She is talking so much, it sorta scares me :) Its just so amazing what she comes out with. She says her name now, well... Nana LOL Breeanna is a mouthful for a 2 year old. She says thank you all the time. She tells us "bum" when she has gone in her diaper. She takes our hand and leads us to where she wantsto go. Whether its to show us something, get something to eat, get changed, etc. She is just so smart! She loves my belly so much. I ask her where baby is and she lifts my shirt. And out of the blue sometimes she will come over and hug or kiss my belly. She is going to be a rockin' big sister. I cant wait to see how she is with him.

Well, thats all for now. I had time to kill, so why not get my blog on? TTYL

Less than 3 weeks, maybe?

Well, were heading into the home stretch. I am now into my 38th week. I cant believe it! By this time with Breeanna, I had a date to be induced and knew when she was coming. This time I am planning on a VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section) so its "go with the flow" and see what happens. I have good days and bad days. Sometimes I have energy and no pain. Other times I have to rest and do nothing. Today, is a good day :) I had my check up a few days ago. Everything is good- urine, blood pressure, fetal movement, etc. I didnt gain any weight in a week, which is ok. Baby was very active and his heart rate was 142 beats per minute. He is head down and has dropped considerably. And get this... I have been measuring at 40 cm since 34 weeks. Well, now that he has dropped, I am on track and measured 37cm at 37 weeks. Go figure?! The doctors are quite impressed I am set on a VBAC. Most patients feel they are "once a c-section always a c-section". But not me. Mine only came about because after 16+ hours in labour I didnt get to the 10cm and baby's heartrate was irregular. I have NO complications this time around, so its worth a shot again. Plus, I will be at term and baby will be ready to come out on his own. If it ends in a c-section, so be it. But atleast I tried, right? I would just love to go natural, get home sooner, have a quicker recovery, etc. Alot of people think a c-section is EASIER. WRONG!!

Last week, we had a maternity photo shoot done by my sister in law. She did a fantastic job! The pictures turned out wonderful and they will be a great way to remember this pregnancy.

Breeanna is doing great! She keeps me on my toes all day, and thats exhausting. She eats non stop, talks non stop... She hasnt been a fan of keeping a sleep routine, which is trying on my nerves. But we get through it. I think she is getting me ready for when baby boy is here and I will never get to sleep! Well, thats all for now :)

Well... Hello 2011!

Well, looky here- its 2011 now.

I slacked on my blogging over the holidays. Due to the craziness of Christmas, birthday, New Years and the fact I was pretty sick! First I had a nasty flu. Got over that, almost... then developed a cold. And the annoying cough is still hanging on.

Anyways... Im back!

36 week baby bump
WOWSA!!

I am now 36 weeks pregnant. I had my weekly check up at the hospital I will be delivering at today. The doctor I was supposed to get, is on maternity leave herself. So I will have who ever happens to be covering those days. As long as baby and I are being taken care of, thats what matters most to me. I have a "new" due date. It was originally Feb 4th, according to calenders and such. It is now Feb 2nd based on my ultrasounds and the size I am measuring. Ok... Everything is going wonderful! It was a very simple check up as everything is going so good. Baby was wiggling all over, and his heartbeat was 150. My blood pressure and urine sample were great. And I didnt gain anything in the last 2 weeks. Could be due to me feeling under the weather? The doctor didnt seem too concerned. So... I go back next week for my pre admittance meeting, then a check up after that. It so exciting getting closer to the big day. I cant wait to have this baby and meet the little guy!

I have been sorting through baby things from Bree to pass down to this baby. The clothes are so tiny, I cant believe she ever fit in them. The little onesies and sleepers are so cute. And the diapers and bottles are so small. Its amazing how fast they change and grow. We dont need a whole lot, as things from Bree were well taken care of. I would like to see more BLUE :) As well, I have a wishlist of things Id like...

Breast pump
Boppy pillow
Baby monitor
Moby wrap or Snuggli
Just to mention a few things ;)

Breeanna has been doing very well. She is getting back into a routine, thank goodness! The excitement of the holidays, me being sick, and Chris being home more really messed her up. I am so grateful when she goes to bed without a fight and I can have some "me time" before bed. She is talking more and more everyday. Acts like a certain animal each day, today she was a dog. When she is done eating she proclaims, "all done" then dumps the remainder of her plate on the floor. Gotta love her! She is mesmerized by me going to the bathroom. Hopefully this is a sign she may be getting ready to use the potty herself! She loves to sing, tickle us, and give us a high 5. She sure is one of a kind! I love her to bits :)
